A few bad apples.

Hello world,
I am deleting the blog at the end of the month and either deleting or restricting everything else *me* on the Internet.

This has been a really fun outlet that I will miss and I hate that I have to do it. I’ve had to deal with my fair share of dumb internet harassment but it’s another thing entirely when my friends are harassed, insulted, and slandered on here, in my email box, as comments on my other accounts and so forth.

Enough is enough. I don’t know how you freaky people find me in relation to these other people. Props to you for your mad skills.

I’ll be available via email or, for most of you, facebook where I obviously restrict access (you crazy cats always put your comments from here on facebook anyway – silly.)

The Alameda County Superior Court Judge Steven Brick issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) on August 9, 2010, that suspended the implementation of the Governor’s Executive Order regarding furloughs. Under the Executive Order, the first furlough day was to be this Friday, August 13, 2010.

Today, the Administration filed a writ with the First District Court of Appeal requesting the TRO be stayed. In other words, the Administration has requested that the First District Court of Appeal allow the furlough program to be implemented immediately. It is possible that the First District Court of Appeal could issue a decision by mid-morning tomorrow, August 11, 2010. If the Administration’s request is granted, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) will start the furlough program this Friday, August 13, 2010, and a memorandum outlining how to implement the furlough program will be sent shortly after the court’s ruling.

If the Administration’s request is denied, and absent any other contrary court intervention, CDCR will NOT implement the furlough program this Friday. In that event, managers and supervisors must work closely with staff to approve leave requests, when feasible, to accommodate staff who have made alternative plans in anticipation of being furloughed this Friday.
